Sustainable Product

We are striving to onboard the circular economy in the design and production of our products and to step up control and oversight systems in the supply chain in line with sustainable criteria.

To this end, from design to sale, each segment of the product’s life is studied in order to reduce its environmental impact, as well as to promote the use of recyclable materials, lower energy consumption, lower emissions of polluting gases and the optimization of resources, especially water.

The actions implemented by Fluidra pursue the following objectives: on the one hand, to reduce the environmental impact of the products in the design, manufacturing and use phases, and on the other hand, to reduce the amount of packaging used. Furthermore, in the near future, the aim is, as far as possible, to design these products to be circular.

Fluidra is committed to ensuring that 80% of our product sales are  classified as “ESG Friendly Products” by 2035.

The following are some examples of the sustainability of our products:

  • Variable speed filtration pumps. This is a technology that can reduce electricity consumption by up to 85% compared to traditional solutions. Fluidra is convinced that this type of products will be established by law on a widespread basis in the coming years, as is already the case in some countries such as the United States.

  • LED lighting. These are products that reduce energy consumption by up to 90% and product lifetime can be up to 20 times longer than conventional halogen lighting.

  • Heat pumps with R32 refrigerant gas. They are an example of energy efficiency in pool heating and in the commitment to reduce the impact of greenhouse gases, since the R32 type gas has no effect on the ozone layer and has a 68% lower impact on global warming.

  • Pool covers. They are a very suitable solution to reduce heat loss from the pool and prevent water evaporation, considerably reducing electricity consumption when heating the water, as well as the consumption of make-up water.

  • Integrated flow bypass for gas heaters. Traditionally, water has always flowed through the gas heater even when it was not in use, wasting unnecessary energy. Using the same technology, the Jandy Versa Plumb system increases hydraulic efficiency by up to 50%, reducing the energy consumption of the pool water treatment system.

  • Water treatment solutions. Thanks to them, the need to renew pool water can be significantly reduced and, therefore, water consumption and the energy needed to heat it can be reduced. In addition, Fluidra has solutions that minimize the use of chemical products for water disinfection, resulting in healthier water for swimming and an environment free of chlorination by-products.
